What is the difference between router and device link LED?



Every model of Netgear wireless range extender comes with a set of LEDs at front. Out of all LEDs, few of them are common to all the Netgear wireless range extenders. The router link LED, device link LED, power LED and WPS LED are the most common and can be located on every model of Netgear wireless range extender. Every LED on Netgear wireless range extender specify different states of Netgear wireless range extender. It could be Very beneficial to know about all the functions of LED in increasing the performance of Netgear wireless range extender.
# Router link LED
We could find the router link LED at the left top of Netgearwireless range extender. The router link LED indicates the connection between the extender and the home router. IT could be solid green, solid amber or it could be off. If the router link LED on Netgear wireless range extender is solid green then, it means, it is having a best connection. If, it is solid amber, it means, its having a good connection. But, if the router link LED on Netgear wireless range extender is not lead up, that means, it is having no connection. So, every time the Router link LED should always be solid green on the Netgear wireless range extender.
# Device link LED
The device link LED could be found on the right top of the Netgear wireless range extender. The device link LED indicates the connection between the extender and a Wi-Fi enabled device like a smartphone or a laptop. It could be solid green, solid amber or it could be off. If the device link LED is solid green, that means the connection is best. If it is solid amber, that means it’s a good connection. But, if it is off that means, there is no connection. So, every time the device link LED on the Netgear wireless range extender should be solid green.
# All solid green LED means no problem
We do not have tocheck all the LEDs on the Netgear wireless range extender all the time. We could just place the Netgear wireless range extender somewhere in our home and we could find the right location for it to be placed very easily. If all the four solid green LEDs will be up on the Netgear wireless range extender, that will indicate that, it is having best connection and its working fine from that location. We do not have to change the location of Netgear wireless range extender. If all the four LEDs are solid green, that means, we are good to go and we do not have to touch the Netgear wireless range extender again.
