What is the difference between router and device link LED?

Every model of Netgear wireless range extender comes with a set of LEDs at front. Out of all LEDs, few of them are common to all the Netgear wireless range extenders. # Router link LED

We could find the router link LED at the left top of Netgearwireless range extender. The router link LED indicates the connection between the extender and the home router.
