Sometimes, after using the Netgear wireless range extender for quite a
while, it stops working. It simply does not connect or if connected, it does
not give us internet access. It could be due to various reasons. It could be
due to some problem in the home router or it could be due to the Netgear wireless range extender itself or it could be due to many other reasons. But,
if we want to solve any problem, first we should know what the problem is. So,
to find out where the problem is, we could simply go through few instructions.
#
Checking the hardware Netgear wireless range extender
When our Netgear wireless range extender is not working, the first thing that we
could do is to check the hardware of Netgear wireless range extender whether,
it is working properly or not. We can check that very easily by checking some
LED indicators on Netgear wireless range extender itself. We could see some LED
indicators at the front of every Netgear wireless range extender. The first
thing we have to is to look for power LED indicator. If the power LED indicator
would be solid green, then it means the Netgear wireless range extender is up
and its running. That means, there is no problem in Netgear wireless range
extender.
# Checking
the home router
The next thing we can do is to check the
all settings on our router. We can check if we are able to connect any Wi-Fi device
with our routeror not. If we are, then we can login into our router and we can
go through basic settings on the router setup page. We can check all the
devices which are connected to the home router and look for Netgear wireless range extender, if it is there
or not. If we could find the Netgear wireless range extender, that’s fine but,
if its not there, we have to add the Netgear wireless range extender once
again.

Resetting the Netgear wireless range extender
If we have tried everything and nothing is
working, the, we could simply rest the Netgear wireless range extender and set it up all over again. There would
be reset hole at the back of Netgear wireless range extender. We just have to enter the pin onto that hole and press it for
20 seconds. After that, we have to wait for two minutes and it will get reset.
After resetting the Netgear wireless range extender, we have to set it up all
over gain like we first bought it. We just have to use the web browser setup or
WPS (wireless protected setup) to setup the Netgear wireless range extender.
Once, the setup will be completed, the Netgear wireless range extender will
start working.
