We could setup the Netgear wireless range
extender using the simplest method of wireless protected setup (WPS) or we
could use the web browser setup as well. The difference between the two is that
one is automatic and the other is manual. With WPS all the settings on the
Netgear wireless range extender are applied automatically and on web browser
setup, we have to make all the settings what we want to set on our Netgearwireless range extender. No matter which we use, sometimes, after setting up
and connecting to the Wi-Fi network extended by Netgear wireless range
extender, we see No internet access.
# Reason behind No internet access
When, we connect any device with the
network extended by the Netgear wireless range extender, we see no internet
access and connected, just below the name of Wi-Fi network of Netgear wireless
range extender. It could be due to may reasons. It could be due to the
malfunctioning our existing home wifi router or it could be due to the power
fluctuations. No matter, what is the reason, we would not be able to use
internet in such condition from our Netgear wireless range extender.
# How to fix it?
The simplest and the quickest solution to
solve this problem would be performing a power recycle on our every device
connected to our Netgear wireless range extender. That means, we have to turn
off our router fooled by the Netgear wireless range extender and at last, we
have to turn of that Wi-Fi device in which we were connected to the Netgear
extender. After one minute, we have to turn our Home router first followed by
the Netgear wireless range extender and at last, the other Wi-Fi device. Then
again, we have to try connect to the Netgear extender and this time, it should
have the internet access.
# Last option, we would be left with is
hard reset
If, the way we discussed above doesn’t
work, then, we have to hard reset our Netgear wireless range extender. We could
easily reset the Netgear wireless range extender by pressing the reset button
underneath of it or on the side. After resetting the Netgear wireless range
extender, it would come back to factory defaults. The Netgear wireless range
extender would just be like a new extender and we could set it up all over again
like we first bought it. This time the Netgear wireless range extender will work and we will have the internet access that we needed.
